The Upper Crust

The upper crust
Take the money from the people
And distribute among themselves
They call it ‘consultancy fees’.

The upper crust
Take the money from the people
And distribute it among themselves
And call it ‘legal fees’.

The upper crust
Take the money from the people
And distribute it among themselves
They call it their entitlement
Because they are better than us
Because they know  more than the rest of us
and they do.

They know how to take money from the people
And distribute it among themselves.

  1. I liked the use of refrains, sounds and imagery which build to produce a caustic tone or even shouting rythym . My views on inequality shift. Sometimes I think , as in the animal world that inequality is a pre-determined status quo; for one dominant group to oppress a weaker group. Whilst at other times I feel if we are supposed to be the brightest species, then as we evolve we should constantly question and if necessary change the status quo. One thing I am sure of though is that now seems a greater disparity than ever between rich and poor. Good Luck with the writing
