NOT YOU

We didn't choose where to die
We didn't think it would be better to walk down your street
Then someone would give a shit and cry.
We were born a long way from you
But flesh clings to our bodies like you

But you see burns on the screen, no screams
No wails of pain it’s not your kids
Not in your backyard missed
Didn't land on your bus stop or bread queue

We didn't choose to be under a plane that dropped
Its load
Just pick up your Tesco’s order and be gone
Like we split in two
